If you want a much better, healthier life, go eat and drink at Papaya’s everyday.
For decades Papaya’s has been synonymous with healthy eating on Kaua‘i.
Next time you’re there, try the “Chai Coconut Yum,” a delicious smoothie packed with all those good treats that will give you a mega energy boost for the entire day.
Kainu Koli has been working at Papaya’s since she graduated from Kapa‘a High School eight years ago.
The mother of two beautiful girls, ages three and six — plus another on the way — loves to spend time at the beach with her family.
Kainu also has a heck of a good time playing the ‘ukulele and singing with her happy family, or just watching her two girls dance Tahitian for her.
Did I mention Kainu is an outstanding chef? If you don’t believe me, go check out Papaya’s daily food specials.
And if you are going to eat great food everyday, you better have a gold mouth. OK, settle for a golden tooth, or maybe two or three.
Kainu’s husband is Tongan, and she said it’s a tradition among Tongans to have gold-covered teeth. So the devoted wife had two of her teeth covered in gold, while her husband had three of his. And they did it together.
Papaya’s is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Sunday they are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Nofo a (goodbye in Tongan).
