KAPA‘A — Kaua‘i Fire Department medics responded to the scene of an injured bicyclist Sunday, after the rider collided with a vehicle and escaped serious injury.
KFD reports that a man was riding his bicycle northbound against traffic on the southbound side of Kuhio Highway and was crossing the intersection at Akia Road in the vicinity of Cost-U-Less when a white SUV turning onto the highway struck the bicyclist as he crossed Akia Road.
The incident was reported at 1:53 p.m. The bicyclist sustained minor lacerations and was treated by medics on the scene and released.
