Mother Ester Leutenberg and her daughter Kathy Khalsa will sign copies of their books from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Talk Story Bookstore in Hanapepe.
The duo started their business, Wellness Reproductions and Publishing, when Khalsa had a need for activity handouts for mental health facilitators.
Khalso invited her mother to help with the project, knowing that she needed a distraction. Leutenberg lost her son to suicide in 1986.
Together, the mother/daughter team self-published their first book, “Life Management Skills” in 1989. Since then, they have found their niche — producing books and handouts that support mental health clinicians as well as people with mental illness.
Leutenberg and Khalsa will have their books, including “Taking Depression to School,” “Creating a Healthy Balanced Life” and “The Griefwork Companion,” available for sell at Talk Story Bookstore, located at 3785 Hanapepe Rd. in Hanapepe. Call 335-6469 for more information about the signing.
