LIHU‘E — Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative is hosting its fourth and final third-quarter update meeting Thursday.
The first two meetings, held in Koloa on July 28 and Kekaha on Aug. 3, had a “moderate” turnout with “just a dozen or so” attending, “very little questions” and “very low key,” KIUC Board of Directors member Steve Rapozo said Tuesday.
The third meeting was held Tuesday evening in Hanalei.
The Kapa‘a meeting will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Kapa‘a Middle School cafeteria. KIUC invites members to learn about the utility’s smart grid, social media and status of renewable energy on Kaua‘i. Rapozo said live streaming of the meeting will be provided.
Unlike the second-quarter meetings, free rice will not be provided this time; however, the co-op will continue to offer a light bulb exchange in which attendees may trade in their standard light bulbs for free compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs).
Kapa‘a Middle School is located at 4867 Olohena Rd. For additional information, call KIUC at 246-4300.
