Registration for the 18th annual Contractors Association of Kaua‘i Scholarship Golf Tournament are still being accepted for the tournament which plays Aug. 13 at the Puakea Golf Course.
Thursday night, the CAK presented $8,000 in scholarships and awards to Kaua‘i students during its general membership meeting at the Kaua‘i Beach Resort.
Proceeds from the tournament go toward this fund and enable golfers to earn prizes.
Tournament format is 2-person best ball, low net score with men having a 27 maximum handicap and women having a maximum 36 USGA handicap as of July 2011. A Callaway flight is available for players without established handicaps, as both partners need to meet Callaway requirements.
Registration fee is $100 per golfer and mulligans will be available on Aug. 13. A shotgun start at 8 a.m. starts play at the Puakea Golf Course.
The 18th place team will win a Big Island Golf Weekend sponsored by the Hilton Grand Vacation Club at King’s Land. Also available are hole-in-one prizes on all Par 3 holes sponsored by the Puakea Golf Course, a million-dollar shootout sponsored by Jas W. Glover, and the Walter Briant Memorial 3-putt contest sponsored by Briant Construction, a subsidiary of Aqua Engineers.
Platinum sponsors for the tournament include Earthworks Pacific, Aston Islander on the Beach, Kaua‘i, the Hilton Grand Vacation Club at King’s Land and Goodfellow Brothers.
Sponsors in addition to Glover, Briant Construction and Puakea Golf Course include Cushnie Construction, Glover/Honsador, the Grove Farm Company, Koga Engineering and Linthicum.
