“Willy Wonka” is based on the 1964 children’s book written by Roald Dahl, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”
Open auditions will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Aug. 19 at the Weinberg Gym of Island School and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 20 and 21 at the Puhi Theatrical Warehouse. Call backs will be conducted at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 23.

Actors should be prepared with a song from the show for their auditions, according to the release.
“Willy Wonka” will run at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall over two weekends. It opens Nov. 18 and closes Nov. 27.
