Hawai‘i Children’s Theatre Summer Stars is readying for its annual Art of Acting Showcase, according to a press release. The showcase is 7 p.m. Thursday, at Kaua‘i Community College Performing Arts Center. Tickets cost $7 in advance and $10 at the door.
More than 50 students ages four to 16 will perform in the showcase.
“The HCT goal for the showcase program is to honor the artistic and creative needs of all children and young people on Kaua‘i and to extend the range of theater education and productions available to children,” the press release states.
The aspiring thespians spent four hours a day for five weeks developing their acting, improvisational, costuming, singing, dancing, directing, mining and aerial skills.
The keiki program introduced children to theater using games, storytelling, costumes, mask making puppetry and miming.
