LIHU‘E – No more vehicle registration renewal in the mailbox.
Instead, in an effort to improve efficiency the county has begun mailing vehicle renewal notices to Kaua‘i residents, a county Finance Department notice states.
The change is being rolled out statewide as a cost-saving measure, and is expected to save the county at least $6,000 per fiscal year.
Renewals can be mailed with the upper portion of the notice, enclosed with a check or money order to Motor Vehicle Registration, 4444 Rice St., Ste. 466, Lihu‘e 96766. Vehicle owners can also go to www.kauai.gov to process renewals.
