The Kawaihau Big League All-Stars advanced to the championship game of the State Championships with a 12-5 win over the Hilo All-Stars, Saturday night.
Kaimana Perreira-Alquiza, the Waimea High School standout infielder during the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation, paced the 11-hit match for Kawaihau with a home run.
Jordan Kamakea, Shylen Keuma and Dallas Correa each marked two hits apiece in the win.
Erin Doi, the versatile Kaua‘i High School player during the KIF league, marked a hit while combining with Keuma to give up nine hits to Hilo while striking out two. Doi picked up the win in the start on the mound.
Mikeo Rita, Kellen Aquino and Taran Tani, finishing a strong freshman year at Hawai‘i Pacific University, all added hits.
Following the win over Hilo, the Kawaihau Bigs will be on the championship field, Monday afternoon, facing the winner of the Maui and Hilo game.
The first pitch will be thrown at 4:30 p.m.
