LAWA‘I — Paramedics took a 30-year-old Lawa‘i man to Wilcox Memorial Hospital early Tuesday morning after someone stabbed his left leg.
Police responded to the medical call at about 3:41 a.m. at the Lawa‘i General Store, a county press release states.
According to police, a woman went to his home sometime early that morning. Upon arriving, an altercation occurred between her, another woman and the man. The visiting woman then reportedly stabbed his left leg during the fight.
The man ran from the home and drove to the Lawa‘i General Store to notify police. He was then transported to the hospital for treatment, the release states.
Police later arrested 25-year-old Nicole Gonsalves of Lawa‘i at a home in the area.
Gonsalves is being held in a police cell block on first-degree assault and other charges arising from the same incident. A judge set bail at $36,100.
Police are investigating.
