Congratulations to Jazzlyn Saflor-Pasion who earned Best in Terno honors at the 53rd Annual Miss Kaua‘i Filipina Scholarship Pageant, Saturday night. Jazzlyn (How many of you remember when she was Youth of the Year?) wants to be a fashion designer and already has a good start with that fancy terno.
Hats off to Art Umezu (he knows the story of the Hypersquad) and Maggi Celebrado for doing a great job with hosting the event, and kudos to Liza Trinidad (she said the pageant is award-winning) and Jimmy Iloreta on a great pageant this year.
On the subject of kudos, congratulations to Brandon Palacio (he plays for Waimea High School) who not only got to do a special guest appearance at the Dennis Agena clinic on O‘ahu, he ended up getting the Above and Beyond Award presented by the Moanalua High School coach!
OK, so if you’re looking for something to do, coach Clarence Sales and Team Central Basketball opens the 2011 Merv Lopes classic this afternoon at the Island School (Pauline Ibia said they had graduation, Saturday!) gym.
Don’t forget Sherri Patrick and the Leadership Kaua‘i graduation, Friday!
