The third annual Pro/Am Bodyboarding Competition will be held at 9 a.m. on June 18 and 19 at Shipwreck Beach (Keoneloa Bay).
The Kaua‘i Bodyboarding Association and director Pohaku Kekaualua, in conjunction with Progressive Expressions, is again hosting the U.S. Bodyboarding Association competition between nationally rated professionals and Kaua‘i pro/am athletes, states a release from the KBA.
USBA director Jason Bitzer is currently holding a pro/am event in Huntington Beach, Calif. and will then return to Hawai‘i for the Kaua‘i event.
The organization advises that 10 by 10 foot tent shelters be set mauka of the sand/waterline, but not on the grass. This will facilitate the judges’ view of the activities.
USBA will have security on hand to ensure it remains a drug and alcohol-free event.
