Last week Thursday marked my first time to a Kaua‘i Underground Artists event. I was fortunate enough to make it to their 3rd Annual Love Life Creative Festival held at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall.
Lila Metzger, founder of KUGA, first started the Love Life Festival to encourage youths to embrace a drug-free and suicide-free culture through positive, creative outlets of music, dance, and spoken word.
Though this year’s festival officially began at 4:30 p.m., highly decorated B-boy PaulSkee and Hawaii B-girl representative Remedee held free breakdancing workshops earlier in the day. Later in the evening, the two were the judges during the B-boy/B-girl competitions.
