LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Youth Football league will be hosting two Wai‘anae youth teams, Saturday at the Vidinha Stadium.
Brad Hiranaka, president of KYF, said the Kaua‘i Junior Bulldogs, an elementary division squad, will take the field against the Westside Warriors in an 11 a.m. kickoff. They will be followed by the Kaua‘i Bulldogs, the intermediate division team, taking on the Westside Warriors in a 1 p.m. kickoff.
Last week, the KYF teams suffered dual losses against the powerful Pacific Youth Athletics Spartans of Kaneohe.
Hiranaka said football fans can also enjoy chicken hekka which will be available at the food booth.
But the action doesn’t end there, as there will be an adult full-contact football game featuring the O‘ahu Tribal Warriors taking on the Kaua‘i Crusaders starting at 7 p.m. at Vidinha Stadium.
“These are some of the kids I used to help coach when they were in high school,” Hiranaka said. “They’ll be playing against a team put together by Andrew Kamanao.”
There is a $5 admission fee.
