The Marriott’s Waiohai Beach Club is actively seeking golf teams, sponsors and prizes for its First Kapiolani Childen’s Miracle Network Golf Tournament, June 18 at the Kaua‘i Lagoons Golf Club featuring the recently dedicated Kiele Moana 9.
Ben Simao, a front desk associate at the Waiohai, said he and his wife Stephanie experienced the benefits CMN brings to the people of Kaua‘i.
“Our daughter Taislee was born three months premature in 2009,” Simao said in a flier. “Today, she is a thriving, healthy and active toddler because of the top quality medical care she received while under the care at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children through the support of CMN.”
Simao said helping organize and plan this golf tournament is his way of giving back the miracle of life CMN has blessed himself and other families on Kaua‘i with.
All of the funds generated through this tournament will be contributed to CMN with 100 percent remaining in Hawai‘i.
“The benefits and rewards of this tournament will provide charity care and vital services necessary to treat children who otherwise would not be able to afford hospital care,” Simao said.
The tournament check-in starts at noon with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. in a four-person team scramble format.
Handicap maximum for men is 24 and for women, 36.
Registration is $75 per player, or $300 for a team. Mulligans are available at three for $15 per person. Registration fees includes green fees, cart and pupu following the end of the tournament.
In addition to the first, second and last place net team scoring, mulligan prize drawings as well as longest drive and closest-to-the-pin contests for men and women will be available.
There is a deadline of June 3 for sponsorships and prize contributions.
For more information, or to register for the tournament, call Simao, Betty Dela Cruz or Mark Domingcil at 742-4400.
