Women In Need and Boston Hair Design teamed up to give 25 deserving mothers a day of beauty and pampering on April 30 in honor of Mother’s Day.
“This is one of our most exiting events. To watch these women transform before your eyes and feel so good about themselves, is incredible,” Mary Scott-Lau, founder of Women in Need, stated in a press release.
Women In Need is a non-profit organization that serves more than 100 women, men, families and youth on Kaua‘i each year.
The organization offers substance abuse relapse prevention classes, anger management/domestic violence classes, youth and parenting classes, plus emergency housing.
“It’s all about helping others and giving back,” Kaua‘i Program Director Kimberly Cummings stated in a press release. “Our clients were so excited and appreciative to be given such a gift. The gift of self-esteem”.
Cummings selected 25 women from WIN and partnering agencies to receive a donated gift bag of make-up, beauty products, inspirational cards and hand made Kaua‘i angel ornaments. They were also given a red rose on their way out the door.
Boston Hair Design and Women In Need both plan on partnering next year to host the Mother’s Day event.
