Raven Ochoa made the final kick in the shootout to send the Kaua‘i Extreme Strikers to this Saturday’s finals, when it meets the top-seeded Kaua‘i Sparks for the finals of the Under 12 Girls division.
The Sparks got a goal from Judy Ann Edurise in their 1-0 win over the fourth-seeded Team Onipa‘a GU12.
KSA will host the championships for all its division this weekend starting at 8 a.m. with the Boys Under 8, the Girls Under 10, and the Girls Under 14.
Team Onipa‘a Ekahi, getting goals from Levi Snowden and Dwight Apao in a 3-0 win against Team Onipa‘a Elua, will face the Northshore Lightning, whose Nahoa Davis and Chanson Inanod advanced it past No. 3 Westside Falcons, 2-0 during the playoffs for the Boys Under 8.
Myla McKeague netted two goals and Faith Blalock added one score for the top-seeded Pohaku GU10 to advance 3-0 over the Westside Falcons GU10. They will now meet Team Chikara, which took its match by forfeit over Team Onipa‘a GU10.
Kekai Gonsalves, Kaimi Moniz, Gabby Taboniar and Cassie Wilson put scores in for the GU14 top-seeded KSC-Blazing Angels in their 5-2 win over Lokahi, which got its goals from Caitlyn Cantorna.
The KSC-Blazing Angels face GIFC-Blue, a 2-1 winner over FC Northshore in the playoffs. Danielle Allianic and Kaylee Balbarino netted GIFC goals, while Cali MacMillian got the Northshore score.
At 9:30, the Under 8 Girls and the Under 10 Boys take the fields.
The top-seeded Herricanes will face the Lihu‘e Cougars in the U8G, the Cougars advancing on goals by Hailey Overmyer in a 2-0 win over Team Onipa‘a GU8 in the playoffs.
Sofia Colagreco netted two goals with Janessa Freitas and Olivia Ingram each scoring once in the Herricanes’ 4-0 win over Makani.
Campbell Sheehan marked two goals to lead the top-seeded Northshore to a 2-1 win over Pohaku to advance to the finals. Chysen Lagunes also netted two goals to lead the Westside Falcons to its 2-0 win over Team Onipa‘a to advance to the finals.
At 10 a.m., the GIFC-White BU14 will face the Westside Falcons BU14, followed by the final match at 11:30 a.m. when Ha‘aheo Kaua‘i meets KSC-Na Anela.
Justin Pagtolingan scored twice and Tyren Kaneshige added a goal to lead the Westside Falcons to a 3-1 edge over Northshore in the playoffs to advance. Colby Sargent scored Northshore’s net.
