LIHU‘E — Times Supermarket is buying Big Save Value Centers for an undisclosed price, company representatives confirmed Tuesday. The deal is set to close this summer.
The Lihu‘e Big Save grocery will be closed, but the remaining five stores on Kaua‘i will continue operations under the Big Save banner in Kapa‘a, Hanalei, Koloa, ‘Ele‘ele and Waimea.
QSI Inc., a Honolulu-based company doing business as Times Supermarket, plans to transition most of the 234 managers and employees of Big Save Value Centers into similar positions of responsibility under the new ownership, according to a company officials.
