Waimea High School Major Victor Aguilar and his Jr. ROTC cadets had a crazy Saturday starting with doing Color Guard duty and walking at the 33rd Annual Hawai‘i Hotel and Lodging Association Visitor Industry Walk, making it all the way over to the Pacific Missile Range Facility for Color Guard duty at the Century of Naval Aviation “Welcome Aboard PMRF” and then doing May Day for the Menehune at the historic Waimea Theater. To top it all off, Major Aguilar locked the keys in his car at the Visitor Industry Walk, but the Jr. ROTC cadets made all of their engagements.
Hats off to Christina Gabriel and her entire Visitor Industry Charity Walk committee (Steve Yannarell said he was able to walk this year since Christina was the chair) on a successful walk. Aunty Stella Burgess said this was the first time she remembers the ‘ua (rain?) blessing the event, and no one complained about the heat…must have been all those Girl Scout Cookies at the finish line.
Hats off to Kapa‘a football coach Keli‘i Morgado and the entire Warrior football program for helping at the Walk and still hosting the annual Green-White Game, Saturday night.
