LIHU‘E — County officials announced that several county road projects are scheduled to take place next month, a county press release states.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution, expect possible delays while driving through the areas where the projects are underway, and plan accordingly.
The following is a list of roadway projects planned for May:
• Monday, May 2 — Road crews will resume a drain cleaning project at the intersection of Lala Road and Rice Street in Lihu‘e. The project is expected to be completed on May 4.
• Tuesday, May 10 — Portions of Koloa Road in the vicinity of the “S” curve will be briefly closed for re-striping of the centerline and edgelines. Flagmen will be at the site directing traffic.
• Thursday, May 12 — To protect the eroded shoreline in Anahola, road crews will be using heavy equipment to fill and place sand bags along ‘Aliomanu Road.
• Thursday, May 19 — Haleko Road in Lihu‘e will be closed from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to allow road crews to re-stripe the centerline and edgelines.
• Friday, May 20 — Re-striping of the edgelines on Haleko Road to be completed. Flagmen will be at the site directing traffic.
