KCC offers nonprofit management prgm
If you are a new or aspiring executive director, board member or staff member of a small or medium not-for-profit on Kaua‘i, Kaua‘i Community College’s new Not-for-Profit Management Certificate Program may be just what you’re looking for, a press release said.
The program will be offered through OCET from May 7 to Dec. 17 and includes eight modules that may be taken individually or take them all to earn the certificate.
Those seeking certification may be eligible for significant tuition assistance. For additional information or to view program materials, contact OCET at 245-8318.
CB Richard Ellis ranked No. 1 brokerage
National Real Estate Investor, a magazine for professional real estate investors, has ranked CB Richard Ellis Group the number one U.S.-based commercial real estate brokerage firm for the eighth year in a row.
The ranking, featured in the publication’s April 2011 issue, is based on the aggregate value of sales and leasing transactions completed globally during 2010.
CB Richard Ellis was responsible for $128.1 billion of global sales and leasing transactions in 2010. This total was nearly twice the transaction value of the number-two firm, which reflected CB Richard Ellis’ lead over the second-place firm widening by $17.5 billion — or 10 percentage points — compared with 2009, a press release said.
“As the market cycle has improved, we have expanded our leadership position globally by consistently delivering best-in-class solutions for our clients,” said Brett White, CB Richard Ellis CEO. “Our ability to lead the industry across market cycles underscores the value that commercial property owners, investors and occupiers place in our people and our comprehensive services platform.”

Lat22 offers last minute deals in Hawai‘i
Lat22, the app for Kaua‘i activities, now offers exclusive last minute deals for popular activities, a press release said.
Lat22 is a free activity guide designed for mobile devices. From surfing lessons to helicopter rides, guided hikes to kayak tours, it provides detailed activity descriptions from each activity provider, with times, locations, prices, reviews, contact numbers and maps.
Its last minute deals service is based on same-day or next day openings. For example, it recently offered a seven-hour Ni’ihau and Na Pali Coast Super Tour by HoloHolo Charters for $130, regular price $179.
Lat22 says the deals rival the kama’aina rates offered to Hawai‘i locals and make Lat22 a fantastic mobile app for locals and visitors alike. Consumers are offered significant savings, while activity providers generate revenue and fill spots that would have otherwise been empty on their tours.
