The 10th Annual Irons Brothers Pine Trees Classic took place Saturday in Hanalei as Kaua‘i’s keiki came out in record numbers with over 180 participants taking to the Pine Trees waves.
The yearly event was a special one, being the first since the passing of Andy Irons in November. In the 9-10 Year Old Girls division, Kelta O’Rourke was awarded first place.
For the 9-10 Year Old Boys, Luca Aza grabbed top prize. Chloe Shutt won the 11-12 Year Old Girls division, while Kalei Chase took home the 11-12 Year Old Boys division title. Bowl Awards were given to Ikela Kamala and Kala Rall (Keiki Standouts), Michael Dewitt and Mokihana Mauiki (Sportsmanship) and Kelta O’Rourke (Attitude).
Bruce Irons and Sunny Garcia gave out a number of new surf boards, with Kaliko Pa, Kanaloa Kala Rall, Legend Leopaulano, Noe‘e Kahaulua, Chanson Hawelu, E‘elekoa Emery, Jaden Hamid, Kaiana Oliver, Kaimana Haddy, Kalani Fitzgerald and Nyla Sai all taking home Board Awards.
