Keegan Loo of Lihu‘e fired a 2-over par 74 to clinch first place in the Boys 13-14 division at the Hawai‘i Junior Golf Association Junior Tour Series, 14 and Under, at the Pukalani Country Club Sunday.
Keegan, who was joined on the Valley Isle by fellow Kaua‘i Junior Golf Association golfers Rilen Loo and Naea Oda of Kapa‘a, finished the opening round in fourth place after firing an 82.
Following a good overnight sleep, Keegan, a student at Elsie Wilcox Elementary School, charged back to finish the Sunday round at 74 for a two-day total 156, one stroke better than Saturday’s leader, Caleb Keohokapu of Waimanalo, O‘ahu.
Keohokapu, who fired a 77, Saturday, tumbled to finish at 80 in the final round for a two-day total 157, tying with Matthew Shen of Kapolei, O‘ahu, who carded a second place 77, Sunday for his 157 (80-77).
Desmond Mello of Kaneohe, O‘ahu, (79-84-163) and Tyler Munetake of Wailuku, Maui (956-81-176) rounded out the division.
Rilen Loo of Lihu‘e finished with a two-day total 170 (84-86) for sixth place in the Boys 11-12 division, which was won by Remington Hirano (77-74-151).
Oda, consistent through two days of play, ended Sunday’s round in second place at 90, but could not do better than third place at 179 (89-90) in the Girls 13-14 division which was won by hometown girl Jasmine Cabajar (85-86-171). Kristen Ishikawa of Pukalani, Maui, took second at 172 (79-93) and Hannah Haythorne of Honolulu rounded out the leaderboard at 204 (100-104).
Kristeena Locke (85-80) of Kahului, Maui and Malia Nam (82-83) of Honolulu tied for the lead of the Girls 11-12 with a two day total of 165.
Alysha Mae Mateo of Mililani, O‘ahu, playing in the JTS Series here with Millburn Ho of Honolulu, topped the Girls 7-10 division with scores of 163 (82-81) and 169 (82-87), respectively.
Jordan Terada (76-74-150) of Kahului finished three strokes ahead of Marlon Bottorff (72-81-153) of Kihei, Maui to take the Boys 7-10 division.
The HSJGA Junior Tour Series was created four years ago to help prepare the younger HSJGA members for the HSJGA summer tournament schedule.
