The Kamikaze basketball team, coached by Keven Hanano and Greg Meyers, was announced first-place winners in the Sportsmanship division in the 2011 Department of Parks and Recreation Winter Basketball League.
Coach Dino Pabre of the Westside Basketball program led his blueshirts to second place in the Sportsmanship category and also finished second in the Participation division.
Lihu‘e 1, coached by Max Manera, finished third in the Sportsmanship Awards.
Kaulupono, coached by Pedro Saligumba and Bobby Kamakele, finished first in the Participation Awards, followed by Westside Basketball and Hanakila, coached by Phil Baclayon and Mike Stevens.
Hanakila, going through the season undefeated until the waning days of the league, finished first in the Outstanding Team Awards.
Lepo Ula, coached by Afa Acoba, finished second in the Outstanding Team division followed by Team Central, coached by Stephen Pascua, Ipo Yoshioka and Clarence Sales.
