Congratulations to Melissa McFerrin — not only on doing a great job with the 16th annual Kaua‘i Garden Fair, but on her new baby boy!
Melissa had help in the form of Larry Feinstein who stepped to the plate when she had to go have her baby. He was waiting on the Puerto Rican Taco place to open, but Chucky Boy Chock didn’t have that problem (he could cook them in the rain!) with the Fried Green Tomatoes which everyone said was a hit.
The food banks were out in force as Wes Perreira was spearheading the Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i drive at Walmart and Kelvin Moniz had a Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank tent where people could get compact fluorescent lamps for their contributions, although Kelvin said he was promoting the gleaning and Plant-a-Row program.
Coach Greg Meyer and Andre Cotrim had the Ono Pops (Larry said that was new) from Hawai‘i Kai, and Westy Kessler had her partner Tiare Shim of Sugar Mill Cupcakes with two new items — how about two cupcake tops with icing?
Have you bought your Passion for Purses ticket yet? Mary Navarro of Hale ‘Opio said it’s coming up May 1!
