Estrella Cadiz
Estrella Baxa Cadiz of Hanama‘ulu died at home on March 21, 2011, at age 74. Born Dec. 15, 1936, in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she retired as an orchard worker with Kilauea Agronomics.
She is survived by her husband, Eulalio Cadiz; children, Rogelio “Kelly” (Tina) Cadiz, Benigno “Ben” (Joy) Cadiz, Luisa B. Cadiz, Jesus “Bobot” (Nicky) Cadiz, Mary Rose B. Cadiz, Juliet B. Cadiz, Jackie B. (Kuo) Cadiz-Wang; sister, Victoria (Francisco) Tumacder of the Philippines; brother, Felino (Auria) Baxa of the Philippines; 10 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A wake service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Kaua‘i Veterans Center in Lihu‘e with visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Kaua‘i Veterans Center in Lihu‘e from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.

Hanako Lapilio
Hanako Lapilio of Anahola died at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital on March 22, 2011, at age 80. Born March 4, 1931, in Yokohama, Japan, she was a dedicated homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Lapilio.
She is survived by her children, Frederick (Maileen) Lapilio, Mark (Ruby) Lapilio, Ramona Lapilio, Joanne (Samuel) Keopuhiwa; sisters, Yoshie of Kanagawa, Japan, Hiroko of Tokyo, Japan; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 9, at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery Pavillion in Hanapepe with visitation from 10 a.m. and services celebrated at 11 a.m.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Lapilio family with Arrangements.
Keopele Ornellas
Keopele “Keo” Keola Ornellas of Kapa‘a died March 28, 2011, at age 35. Born in Redmond City, Calif., on Oct. 30, 1975, he was a truck driver and laborer.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elvira Ornellas; paternal grandfather, Willie Ornellas; and maternal grandfather, John Goias.
He is survived by his sons, Keyan Perreira-Ornellas, Kaleb Perreira, Kamron Cortez; father, Richard (Kuulei) Ornellas; brother, Richard (Michelle) Juarez Ornellas; sisters, Roberta Osako, Realene Juarez Ornellas; paternal grandmother, Sophie Ornellas; maternal grandmother, Albertina Goias, numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunties, cousins and extended families.
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Anahola Beach Park at 12:00 p.m.

Garry Kaaihue
Garry “Happy Hawaiian” Dennis Kaaihue of Hauula died March 18, 2011, at age 56 in Hauula. Born Sept. 10, 1954, in Ka‘u, he was a commercial fisherman and a carpenter.
He is survived by sons Ikaika Kaaihue, Kekoa Kaaihue; daughters Malia Kaaihue, Pua Kaaihue, Lahapa Kaaihue, Keanu Kaaihue; brothers Isaiah Kaaihue, Will Kaaihue; sisters Royenna Yoshimura, Abigail Kaaihue, Olivia Kaaihue, Faith Mokiau; and eight grandchildren.
First memorial service will be Saturday, April 9, at Kahana Bay, O‘ahu. Visitation is at 11 a.m., service at noon. Second memorial service will be Saturday, April 23, at Salt Pond on Kaua‘i. Visitation is at 11 a.m., service at noon. Third memorial service will be Monday, May 30, at Waiohinu on the Big Island. Visitation is at 9 a.m., service at 10 a.m.
