LIHU‘E — In recognition of April being Fair Housing Month, the county Housing Agency is offering a free training session for housing providers on April 15, a county news release states.
The workshop titled “Opening Dialogue: Opening Doors” will be held from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Lihu‘e Civic Center, Pi‘ikoi Building. Registration will begin at 8 a.m.
Landlords, tenants, resident and property managers, association board members, housing agents, as well as the general public are invited to attend.
Current information on fair housing, reasonable accommodations and modifications, ADA requirements, service animals, and occupancy standard guidelines will be covered during the training session.
Featured speakers include representatives from: the Hawai‘i Civil Rights Commission; Legal Aid Society of Hawai‘i; and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Those interested in attending the fair housing training are required to pre-register by April 13. Space for the workshop is limited.
