Flora Domingsel
Flora Medrano Domingsel of Hanama‘ulu died March 13, 2011, at her residence at age 83. Born Aug. 18, 1927, in Lihu‘e, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Federico B. Domingsel, and parents, Hilario and Atanacia Medrano.
She is survived by daughter Mercy (Dennis “Nick”) Rego; sons Alfred (Gale Maeda) Domingsel, Benito (Battie Keala) Domingsel; brother Angel Medrano; sister-in-law Anna Medrano; brother-in-law Richard Lopez; grandchildren Dennis “DJ” (Janet Banasihan) Rego, Sherrilee (Jarrett Rabot) Rego, Lori (John Afos) Ryan (Anabel Andres) Domingsel, Ryden (Jennifer Masada-White) Domingsel, Haunani, Keala, Kawika Domingsel. George (Alberta Heath) Keala; great-grandchildren Darnell Nikki-Lee Almarza, Jacy, Brandy, Dawson Afos, Jaden, Kyrus Domingsel, Piilani, Kaleo Keala; great-great-grandchildren Zaden Keala Tomas; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday, March 31, at Immaculate Conception Church, Kapaia. Visitation from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Inurnment private at a later date. Family requests casual attire and request no flowers.

Felicisima Sagayaga
Felicisima Macadangdang Sagayaga, of Puhi died March 13, 2011 at the Garden Isle Health Care at age 91. Born October 25, 1919 in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she retired from the Lihu‘e Plantation.
She was preceded in death by her husband Epifanio Sagayaga.
She is survived by her sons, Emilio (Romana Cion) Sagayaga of Lihu‘e, Federico (Matilda) Sagayaga of Milpitas, Calif.; daughter Irene (Winston Efren) Antalan of Puhi; brother Julian (Tessie) Macadangdang of Hanama‘ulu; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, and nephews.
Services to be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church in ‘Ele‘ele on April 2, 2011 from 9 to 11 a.m. Viewing where Mass will be celebrated at 11:00a.m. Burial to follow at Lihu‘e Cemetery.

Michael Gambeng
Michael Timothy Mendaro Gambeng of Hanama‘ulu died at Kapiolani Hospital for Women and Children on March 19, 2011, at age 10. Born in Lihu‘e on Feb. 5, 2001, he was a student at Wilcox Elementary School.
He was preceded in death by his father, Andy Paul Gambeng; maternal grandparents, Timoteo and Marina Mendaro.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Marie Mendaro and Lemuel Soria of Hanama‘ulu; brothers, Maverick Andy Paul Gambeng, Harry Soria, Kyle Gambeng; sister, Rhea Gambeng; paternal grandparents, Edwin and Aniceta Gambeng; numerous aunties, uncles, cousins and grandparents.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 2, at Immaculate Conception Church with visitation from 8 to 9:45 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Lihu‘e Cemetery.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Miyono Watanabe
Miyono Noji Watanabe of Kalaheo died March 9, 2011, at Straub Clinic and Hospital in Honolulu at age 81. Born Nov. 20, 1929, in Waimea, Kaua‘i, she retired as a waitress at the Kaua‘i Surf Hotel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kiyo Watanabe, and daughter, Jade Ann Hamai.
She is survived by her daughter, April Watanabe of Lihu‘e; son, Mel Watanabe of Kalaheo; brother, Takeshi (Toshiko) Noji of Honolulu; sister, Haruko Ando of Kekaha; grandchildren, Justin Hamai of Las Vegas, Nev., Jarret Hamai of Phoenix, Ariz., and Tori Watanabe of Lihu‘e.
A private service was held.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Watanabe family with arrangements.
Estrella Cadiz
Estrella Baxa Cadiz of Hanama‘ulu died at home on March 21, 2011 at age 74. Born December 15, 1936 in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she retired as an orchard worker with Kilauea Agronomics.
She is survived by her husband, Eulalio Cadiz; children, Rogelio “Kelly” (Tina) Cadiz, Benigno “Ben” (Joy) Cadiz, Luisa B. Cadiz, Jesus “Bobot” (Nicky) Cadiz, Mary Rose B. Cadiz, Juliet B. Cadiz, Jackie B. (Kuo) Cadiz-Wang; sister, Victoria (Francisco) Tumacder of the Philippines; brother, Felino (Auria) Baxa of the Philippines; 10 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A wake service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011 at Kaua‘i Veterans Center in Lihu‘e with visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Kaua‘i Veterans Center in Lihu‘e from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.

Amos Arashiro
Amos “Moose” Arashiro of Kekaha, Kaua‘i, died March 24, 2011 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 59. Born on February 28, 1952, in Waimea, Kaua‘i, he was a Machinist with Kekaha Sugar.
He was preceded in death by his mother Lauae.
He is survived by his father Osamu Arashiro; brother Alvin (Carmen) Arashiro of Kekaha; sisters Annabelle (Jack) Evans of Utah, Cheryl Lou (Glenn) Morimoto of Lawai, Laureen “Ari” Arashiro of Oahu and Sasha Figueira of Kekaha; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 9:00a.m. to 11a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2011 at Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Kekaha. Service at 11 a.m. Followed by burial at the Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Elmer Snyder
Elmer Snyder of Princeville, Kaua‘i, died on March 25, 2011 at age 82. Born in Chicago, Illinois on October 2, 1928, he retired as a Regional Sales Manager for the A.H. Robins Pharmaceutical Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Snyder.
He is survived by his children, Matthew (Amy) of Washington, Mark (Patty) of Washington, Mary Beth (Tracy) Cross of Illinois, Michael of Illinois; sisters, Lorraine (Lou), Dorothy (Jack), Peg (George); nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren,; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011 at St. Sylvester’s church in Kilauea with visitation from 8:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to St. Catherine’s Church Adopt a Student program. Casual attire suggested.

Gomercinda Lutao
Gomercinda “Ming” Lutao of Kaumakani died on March 24, 2011 at her home at age 84. Born on January 11, 1927, at Albuera, Leyte, Philippines, she retired as a Housekeeping supervisor with Sheraton Kaua‘i Hotel.
She is survived by her husband Domingo Lutao, Sr.; sons, Domingo Lutao Jr. (Rhonda) of Kalaheo, Richard (Leslie) Lutao, Lester (Laura) Domingo both of Kaumakani; daughter Rosemary (George) Nagato of Honolulu; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel. Service at 11 a.m. Burial is scheduled at 2 p.m. at the Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.

Ariel Smart
Ariel Marie Smart, of Kea’au Hawai‘i died March 20, 2011 at the Moanalua Medical Center, Honolulu at age 68. Born in San Jose, Calif., she retired as a full time homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her son Vincent Charles Price.
She is survived by her husband Robert Eric Smart of Keaau, Hawai‘i; daughters Charmine Marie (John) Burns of Keaau, Hawai‘i, Melody (Chad) Krause of Lockford, Calif., April Smart of Lodi, Calif.; brother Clifton (Christine) Walker of Santa Rosa, Calif.; 3 grandhildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Sunday April 3, 2011 at the Borthwick Hawai‘i Funeral Home; 570 Kinoole St, Hilo. 1:00p.m-3:00p.m. Memorial Service will follow at 3:00p.m. Celebration of her life will follow Service. Juana “Mama Jane” Hilario of Kilauea died on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at the Garden Isle Health Care at age 88. Born August 29, 1922 in the Philippines, she retired from the Princeville Hotel.
She was preceded in death by her husband Vincente Hilario; daughter Augustina “Tinay” (Gary) Ebinger; sons, Rudy Viquelia, Anthony “Tony” Viquelia; sister Mary Simbre.
