Jay Pugh said he’s going to be on the sidelines when the Kaua‘i Police Activities League hosts its first big match (we gotta get Tom Clements to that, too). Hats off to Scott Kaui for being so persistent about keeping the program alive. Now, there are registrations being taken for the Westside with coach Mac Pigott (Jay used to work out with him), and for the Lihu‘e area.
Happy birthday to Judy Lenthall and Courtney Ochoco (she was the one with all the balloons at the Mayor’s Aloha Garden 2nd anniversary celebration). They’re both “Happy O’birthday” celebrants and Kristen Sugihara got Courtney to join her for a brief Tahitian dance stint.
Kudos to David Ochoco, Peter Nguyen and Travis Navarro for pulling together a great program. Kaua‘i Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. even taped a portion of his “Together We Can” TV show there.
Speaking of Polynesian dance, Neill Sams is all excited about the Philadelphia Flower Show which he just attended. He said next year, the theme is “Hawai‘i,” and he’s excited about the marketing prospect for not only the state, but the orchid growers as well.
