David Dabin had the quickest laps and topped the 50cc A class, as well as the 65cc class during the second Kaua‘i Motocross Riders Association race at the Wailua track, Sunday.
In the 65cc class, Chysen Barretto and Richard Silliman filled in the leaderboard.
Tyler Hirakawa monopolized the 50cc B class, and Talan Goias-Arazadon, Adam Martin and Edward Silliman ruled the 50cc C class.
Kaipo Estralla topped the 85 cc class followed by Bryson Yoro, David Dabin, Josh Dabin and Bryzen Cadiz.
Unlike the previous race which had to be cut short due to the arrival of a weather front that blanketed the entire island with rain and thunderstorms, Sunday’s race ran under great weather conditions providing some great racing for riders.
“With the beautiful sunny weather, awesome competitive racing, lunch wagon food and ono shave ice, what more you ask for on an action-packed Sunday?” said Brian Barretto of the KMRA in a release.
Ryan Merkel topped the 125cc Amateur class with Rodel Domingo filling in the runner-up berth, while Chris Byram monopolized the 125cc Expert class.
Randall Osakoda laid claim to the top berth in the 250cc Amateur class, followed by Darrell Dabin, Efren Taylan, Michael Clement, Branden Orsatelli and Anthony Jose.
Brian Medeiros was the winner in the 250cc Expert class, followed by Kalei Souza and Phillip Pembrook.
Darrell Dabin and Harley Genegabuas ruled the Vets class, while David Amorin claimed the top spot in the Masters class, followed by Ethan Kelley and Craig Arzadon.
Brian Medeiros, son of KMRA officers Paul and Sherri Medeiros, pulled the fastest laps and claimed the win in the 250 Expert class, followed by Kalei Souza and Phillip Pembrook.
Pancho Lopez finished with the fastest ride on four wheels, claiming the trophy in the Quad class, followed by Irwin Santiago and Sheldon Garcia.
Bryson Yoro and Efren Taylan finished first and second in the Open B class.
Brian Barretto said the next KMRA motocross race is scheduled for April 17.
Leading up to that race, KMRA invites all dirt bike riders to come and ride the Wailua Motocross track located just south of the Wailua Golf Course.
The course is open Saturdays, Sundays and all state and county holidays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Practice fees are collected at the gate.
