Red Scovel spent her Wednesday morning working with her softball sisters at the Kaua‘i High School campus. Mama Leah Scovel met up with daughter at the softball game at Isenberg Park later in the day.
Marissa Purcel, the Student Government advisor, said the students (Red is in seventh grade, but we know where her heart is) beautified the campus while school workers painted over the effects of graffiti.
Marissa (she still had traces of red paint) made it over to both KIF baseball and softball as did Ross Shimabukuro. It was nice to see all the baseball boys come over to Isenberg to support the Red Raider ladies.
Keith Burgess wanted to know when the next series of garage sales and swap meets are. Lorna Santos of the Lawa‘i Cannery said their next sale benefits the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and will be on March 27. Marissa Sanblom of Grove Farm said their next swap meet will be on April 2 at the Puhi Park.
People can still call Lorna or Marissa if they’re interested in participating as vendors.
OK, now it’s off to check out more KIF baseball and softball.
