Daniel Pacheco
Daniel Pacheco of Wailua, Kaua‘i, died March 10, 2011, at his home at age 89. Born Sept. 22, 1921, in Waialua, O‘ahu, he was an equipment operator with the State of Hawai‘i.
He was preceded in death by parents Manuel and Mary Pacheco; son Everett Mendez; brothers William Pacheco, Alfred Pacheco, Manuel Pacheco, Antone Pacheco and Louis Pacheco; and sisters Mamie Sampaio, Helen Conroe, Lucy Sebold, Louise Pacheco, Evangeline Virgie Kawamata.
He is survived by sons Dennis L. (Carole) Pacheco of Kaniao, Maui, and Daniel Rodwin (Christy) Pacheco of Wahiawa, O‘ahu; daughters E. Nalani (Dennis) Meyers of Waialua, O‘ahu, Dannette (Clifford) Lee of Wailua, Kaua‘i and Linda U. Pacheco of Hanama‘ulu, Kaua‘i; daughter-in-law Francis Mendez of Kanaio, Maui; 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 19, at Lihu‘e First Church, with service to follow. Another memorial service will be held on O‘ahu at a later date.
Casual attire is suggested.

Sarah Sheldon
Sarah Wong Kelekoma Sheldon of Anahola died on March 13, 2011 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 99. Born on Feb. 13, 1912 in Hanalei, she was a retired school teacher and assistant manager of the Coco Palms Resort.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry C.K. Sheldon; and son, Samuel W.K. Sheldon.
She is survived by sister, Elsie Bruce of Pacifica, Calif.; children, Henry K. (Gladys) Sheldon, Thomas L. Sheldon, Joyanne (James) Dilwith, Richard (Jeannie) Sheldon, hanai son, Albert (Setsuko) Fukushima; grandchildren Carol (Wayne) Kahanu, William (Alika) Sheldon, Kunane Sheldon, Bruce Sheldon, Mel Fukushima, Clinton (Terrie) Fukushima, Ada (Hiroshi) Kawatsu, Sam (Marianne) Sheldon, Kamalu (Irene) Sheldon, Kalani Addington, Cherie Logan, Momi (Fig) Mitchell, Keala (Morris) Unutoa, Dan Sheldon, Brianne (Jerry) Shiroma; 25 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grand children; numerous and loving extended family, friends and neighbors.
Service will be held on Friday, March 25, 2011 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints — Kapa‘a Ward. Viewing is at 9 a.m. with service at 11 a.m. Burial to follow service at the Kapa‘a Public Cemetery. Aloha attire or Sunday best welcome.

Annabelle Christian
Annabelle Mokihana Christian of Santa Cruz, Calif. died on Jan. 31, 2011 at Dominican Hospital, Santa Cruz, Calif. at the age of 74. Born on Jan. 5, 1937 on Kaua‘i, she was an employee at Capitola Boat & Bait.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Shirley Ann; birth parents, Sonny Christian and Sadae Torres; adoptive parents, Albert Paul Christian & Margaret Leialoha Nakapuahi.
She is survived by daughters Margaret, Teresa and Gladys; son Stanley; sisters Wilema, Helen, Bea and Helen; brothers Tony and Aly; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Lii Beach (Fujii Beach) at 11 a.m. Attire is casual.
