Neill Sams of Orchid Alley just returned from Philadelphia, but was already preparing some specimens for the Garden Island Orchid Society’s annual Show and Sale this weekend, said Fely Sams.
Neill recently donated some plants which were placed on the trees at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital, by the Kaua‘i Orchid Society.
Mahalo to Michael Koerte for updates on the KIF softball. Michael has new software which provides more stats and by working with KIF scorekeeper Lisa Lemi, every game looks like an HHSAA state final.
Mahalo, too, to Dave and Lida Pigott Burney for the invitation to the sinkhole in Po‘ipu. Gil Cabot and Boy Scout Troop 83 were helping, and congratulations to Jason Cabot for spearheading the nature trail which was landscaped by Lida Pigott.
Marissa Sanbloom of Grove Farm was on hand for the event, and Sabra Kauka and the Island School kids were great along with the Ni‘ihau students whom Dave said work on the property.
