The County of Kaua’i Office of the Prosecuting Attorney announced the following indictments from its February 2011 Grand Jury Sessions:
Assault, family abuse and kidnapping
Name: David J. Borges
Alleged crimes: Kidnapping, second-degree assault, second-degree terroristic threatening
Court dates: June 13 jury trial.
The grand jury returned an indictment against Borges, alleging that he committed the offenses on February 10 by causing substantial bodily injury to another person, restraining another person with the intent to terrorize and/or inflict bodily injury upon him, and threatening to cause bodily injury to a person with the intent to terrorize.
Name: Jeremy Steven Noble
Alleged crimes: Second-degree assault, abuse of family or household members, second-degree terroristic threatening
Court dates: March 8 arraignment and plea.
The grand jury returned an indictment against Noble, alleging that he committed the offenses on February 13 by causing substantial injury to a family or household member and threatening to cause bodily injury to a person with the intent to terrorize.
Drug offenses
Name: Darrell G. Amorin
Alleged crimes: Second-degree methamphetamine trafficking, second-degree promoting of a dangerous drug, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and third-degree promoting a detrimental drug
Court dates: May 16 jury trial.
The grand jury returned an indictment against Amorin, alleging he committed the offenses on December 21, 2010 by distributing methamphetamine and possessing
methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Name: Lani K. Clark
Alleged crimes: Third-degree attempted promoting of a dangerous drug and attempted unlawful use of drug paraphernalia
Court dates: May 15 arraignment and plea.
The grand jury returned an indictment against Clark, alleging he committed the offenses on January 21 by attempting to unlawfully possess methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Name: Kealia Bell-Gasaway
Alleged crimes: Third-degree promoting a dangerous drug (two counts), third-degree promoting a detrimental drug and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia (two counts)
Court dates: None. A warrant was issued for Bell-Gasaway’s arrest. Her bail is set at $4,050.
The grand jury returned an indictment against Bell-Gasaway, alleging that on January 20, she committed the offenses by unlawfully possessing methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Name: Howard T. Yokotake
Alleged crimes: First-degree promoting of a dangerous drug, second-degree promoting of a harmful drug, second-degree promoting of a detrimental drug, fourth-degree promoting a harmful drug, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of an electric gun, and possession of a firearm with intent to facilitate the commission of a felony drug offense
Court dates: May 23 jury trial.
The grand jury returned an indictment against Yokotake, alleging that on November 17, 2010 he committed the offenses by unlawfully possessing cocaine, a marijuana concentrate (hashish), marijuana, hydrocodone, drug paraphernalia, and an electric gun.
Name: Wenona M. M. Camara
Alleged crimes: Third-degree promoting of a dangerous drug, third-degree promoting of a detrimental drug, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia
Court dates: March 15 arraignment and plea.
The grand jury returned an indictment against Camara, alleging that on November 3, 2010, she committed the offenses by unlawfully possessing methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Name: Keoni C. Matsushima
Alleged crimes: Second-degree promoting of a dangerous drug and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia
Court dates: None. A warrant was issued for Matsushima’s arrest and bail was set at $6,000.
The grand jury returned an indictment against Matsushima, alleging that on August 20, 2010 he committed the offenses by unlawfully possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Theft and vehicle break-ins
Name: David C. Bynum
Alleged crimes: Second-degree theft
Court dates: None. A warrant was issued for Bynum’s arrest and bail was set at $1,000.
The grand jury returned an indictment against Bynum, alleging that on March 18, 2010 through and including March 22, 2010 he committed the offense by obtaining or exerting unauthorized control over seven fishing reels, valued at more than $300.
Name: Marc E. Barstad
Alleged crimes: First-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and fourth-degree theft
Court dates: A warrant was issued for Barstad’s arrest and bail was set at $1,050.
The grand jury returned an indictment against Barstad, alleging that on February 12, he committed the offenses by unlawfully entering a motor vehicle with intent to commit a crime against a person and/or against property rights and obtaining or exerting unauthorized control over a cell phone, valued at less than $100.
Name: Jon R. Kawamura
Alleged crimes: Accomplice to unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, accomplice to third-degree theft and driving without a license
Court dates: May 16 jury trial.
The grand jury returned an indictment against Kawamura, alleging that on July 19, 2010 he committed the offenses by aiding, agreeing, or attempting to aid Shaynareva P. Camarillo in the planning or the commission of an unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle and a theft, and driving without a license.
Weapons
Name: John H. Mattos
Alleged crimes: Place to keep a loaded firearm other than a pistol or revolver, place to keep ammunition, night hunting, and restricted weapons in a public hunting area
Court dates: None. A warrant was issued for Mattos’s Arrest and bail was set at $12,000.
The grand jury returned an indictment against Mattos alleging that on November 27, 2010, he committed the offenses by unlawfully possessing a firearm and ammunition, hunting at night, and unlawfully possessing or using animal traps or snares while game hunting in a public area.
