As spring sports begin to take center stage in the coming weeks, the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation announced its All-Stars for the 2011 winter swim season, Monday.
Island School and Kapa‘a High School housed the highest number of honorees, dominating almost all the selections.
Kapa‘a’s Girls 200 Yard Medley Relay team was chosen, consisting of Lana Vali (junior), Tambrina Fairbanks (freshman), Anya Littlefield (junior) and Maluhia Stark-Kinimaka (freshman).
Vali, Littlefield and Stark-Kinimaka were also each part of the Girls 200 Yard Freestyle Relay All-Star team, with Kaitlyn Jarry (senior) completing the group.
Littlefield nabbed two more All-Star selections, taking the Girls 200 Yard Individual Medley and the Girls 100 Yard Freestyle honors.
Vali added the Girls 100 Yard Backstroke to her collection, while Stark-Kinimaka was the honoree in the Girls 50 Yard Freestyle.
Jarry took the Girls 500 Yard Freestyle selection, as well as being part of the All-Star Girls 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team, along with Fairbanks, Meagan Morel (junior) and Hannah Wyatt (freshman).
Morel was selected for her effort in the Girls 100 Yard Butterfly and freshman Abi Stein’s selection for the Girls 200 Yard Freestyle completed the Kapa‘a girls honorees.
The Warrior boys were represented by Kaz Tasic (junior), who took his spot for the Boys 100 Yard Breaststroke.
Island School’s Quinn Hannah-White (freshman), Makana Ledesma (senior), Makalii Pratt (freshman) and Tyler Keith (freshman) were chosen for the Boys 200 Yard Medley Relay All-Star team.
The same foursome made up the team for the Boys 200 Yard Freestyle Relay squad.
Additionally, Keith took individual honors for both the Boys 200 Yard Freestyle and the Boys 100 Yard Butterfly, while Hannah-White nabbed the distinction for the Boys 500 Yard Freestyle and the Boys 200 Yard Individual Medley.
Senior Brandon Taylor was an All-Star in the Boys 50 Yard Freestyle, completing the Voyager selections.
Waimea high school senior Kevin Killerman was the lone Menehune All-Star, singled out for his efforts in the Boys 100 Yard Freestyle.
The team was rounded out by the Kaua‘i contingent, as senior Cody Ishiguro was chosen for the Boys 100 Yard Backstroke and sophomore Sophie Britzmann for the Girls 100 Yard Breaststroke.
Ishiguro was also part of the Boys 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team along with Ryan Valenciano (junior), Nathaniel Elmore (senior) and Brandon Zeeb (senior).

The spring seasons for golf and track are already underway, with baseball and tennis beginning Saturday, followed shortly thereafter by softball on March 9 and boys volleyball on March 22.
