Hats off to librarian Michelle Valenciano and the staff at King Kaumuali‘i Elementary School on hosting a great reading event (mahalo to Doug Sears for being an inspiration on how to be a good reader!).
Students were treated to great performances from some of the most celebrated people in the community like Uncle Curtis Langstaff, Capt. Kaleo Perez, Judge Randal Valenciano, Art Umezu, Nalani Brun (what was that title, again?), and many more. Great job to all.
Ann Peters even informed the Camper that STEPS deciphers to Sequential Transition to Education for Public Schools since Cathy Shanks of PATCH (People Attentve to Children) was not available. Don’t forget, April 2 from 11 a.m. at Kukui Grove.
This year, Cheryl Ann Farrell and the March for Babies will precede the STEPS Parent and Child Fair so it should be a great day.
Janice Bond always has an announcement and said the Project Vision Van will be combining with ‘Ohana Health Plan (Roy Nishida said they paid for the van’s visit to Kaua‘i) for a who series of free health screenings for people at Kukui Grove today. Go check out the van — it’s here all through next week.
