KILAUEA – A traffic collision between a truck and a school bus this morning closed two lanes of Kuhi‘o Highway for about 40 minutes, north of Kalihiwai Bridge.
Police believe wet road conditions may have been a factor.
Just before 6 a.m., a red Nissan pickup, driven by a 44-year-old Kapa‘a man, headed north on the highway when it collided with the back of the school bus, a county press release said. Aside from its 56-year-old driver – a woman from Kapa‘a – the bus was empty.
No injuries were reported.
