KEKAHA — A one-vehicle crash in Kekaha early this morning left one teen dead and another in serious condition, county officials said.
The accident occurred at approximately 1 a.m. on Kaumuali‘i Highway in the vicinity of Manu Road, a news release states. The westbound Toyota pick-up truck crossed the centerline and struck a guardrail on the opposite side of the road.
The driver was ejected and died at the scene. The passenger was transported to Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waimea.
The two occupants of the vehicle were 17-year-old boys. Their names are being withheld at this time. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
