You can call it mainstream coffee, but if every mainstream coffee tasted like Starbucks coffee, then no foreigners — especially the French — would ever make fun of American coffee anymore.
Besides some heavy-duty, high-quality brew, Starbucks also serves some creative stuff that will still fill your daily caffeine needs.
The Coconut Mocha Frappuccino is one of those yummy drinks you’ll find nowhere but in the Lihu‘e Starbucks store, right at Kuku‘i Grove Shopping Center.
Kaua‘i born-and-raised Sharon “Shay” Remigio usually takes her daughter to the beach on her days off. When it comes down to food, this true Waimea wahine loves her Mexican food.
Shay grew up in the Westside, so it’s only natural that her family would like to fish. Today she still fishes with her husband. Shay is probably the first fisherwoman in the world not to tell lies. She says that she only catches small fish.
“My husband catches the big fish, not me,” she said, laughing.
Starbucks Lihu‘e opens at 5 a.m. everyday. On Saturday through Thursday it closes at 9 p.m. On Friday it closes a little later, at 10:30 p.m.
