LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Gateball Club recently hosted a contingent of players from the Big Island in a series of games. Held at Koloa Little League Baseball Park, it was the second series of home-and-home games between the clubs, which had started on the Big Island.
Club members from Kohala and Waikoloa were put to the test by the Kaua‘i club, which was represented by teams Red, White and Blue.
Hours later after several games had been played, the White team, captained by Ron Aceret, was the only undefeated team. The team members included James Poe, Carolyn Cummings, Gilroy Yorkman and Ken Hashimura.
After a full day of games, dinner with “lechon” as the main dish was enjoyed by everyone. The evening was filled with karaoke singing by various talented players, along with fun and fellowship among old and new friends.
