KAPA‘A — A water outage is scheduled in Kapa‘a from 9 p.m., Monday, to 5 a.m., Tuesday, a county news release states.
The outage is necessary to allow the water department to connect newly installed waterlines to the existing water system in the area, the release states.
Residents who live along the following roads will be affected by the outage: Mailihuna, Pelehu, Nunu, I‘iwi, and Iwaena roads; Haua‘ala Road from the Kawaihau Road junction to the Moa Road junction; and Kawaihau Road from the Moa Road junction to the Kawaihau Sports Villas.

Residents in the area should prepare for the outage by storing enough water to meet their needs during the outage, the release states. Residents are also asked to notify their family, friends and neighbors that may be affected by the outage.
Improvements in the Kapa‘a area are part of Water Plan 2020, a comprehensive, long range planning effort, to ensure that safe, affordable and sufficient drinking water is provided to Kaua’i residents over the next two decades.
Jennings Pacific, contractors for the Department of Water, will be completing the tie-in of the newly installed water lines.
Motorists are asked to exercise caution when driving through the affected area.
The Department of Water apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks affected residents for their patience and cooperation in preparing for the water outage as improvements continue.
