Happy Birthday and Happy New Year to Mokihana Aquatics coach Orlando “O” Anaya, who celebrated his special day just before the fireworks by picking maile in Koke‘e.
Kenny Ishii said he’ll be helping to cook at the Island School’s Pancake Breakfast, benefiting the school’s fifth-grade class, this Saturday starting at 7 a.m., so there’s time for people to stop and enjoy before hitting the full KIF schedule, or the resumption of the Kaua‘i Community Market at KCC.
James Masaro of the FIRST Island Robotics team already locked-up 100 tickets for its members and supporters, but Kenny said there are a lot more tickets.
Mahalo to Cheryl Salazar (the peanut butter cookies were great!) of Kaua‘i Granola for the extra effort so Shastin Snyder’s macaroons wouldn’t be chocolate-logged for her final week working as a full-time paginator for TGI.
Hats off to University of Hawai‘i football players Kamalu Umu, Vaughn Meatoga, Jett Jasper, Kenny Estes and Siasau Matagiese (great to have you home!) for taking the time to visit with the long-term residents at the Garden Isle Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center at the Wilcox Memorial Hospital before school resumes Monday!
