The Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation girls soccer game scheduled for Wednesday will be played today at Island School.
According to Ross Shimabukuro, athletic director for Kaua‘i High School, the game between the Kaua‘i and Kapa‘a girls was originally scheduled to be played at the New Kapa‘a Town Park stadium starting at 4:30 p.m.
But after inspecting the facilities, Kapa‘a athletic director Greg Gonsalves said the field was unplayable due to the large amount of rain and the field being unable to dry out by game time.
An alternative plan had been considered to use Weinberg Sports Park in Wailua, but the games will now take place this afternoon at Island School.
Junior varsity is scheduled for 2:15 p.m., with varsity to follow at 4 p.m.
