LIHU‘E — The flash-flood watch had one good side to it, Thursday — people could stop and admire the decorated Christmas trees in the G.N. Wilcox Memorial Hospital lobby.
Adding to the ambiance was award-winning pianist and composer Ivo Monroe Miller with his offering of Christmas carols and other holiday music.
Miller plays on the hospital’s grand piano from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. He also has copies of his CD, including a Christmas CD with one of his original compositions.
The trees are available for the public to view and admire through the holidays, said Lani Yukimura, the hospital’s community-relations officer.
Thursday, members of the community were engrossed with judging the trees that ring the hospital’s lobby.
During the public viewing, people can compare their own picks against those of the judges, trees receiving awards having identifying labels on them.
The public is invited to stop in and view the trees during the hospital’s visiting hours, which end daily at 8 p.m.
If people come before 7 p.m., they can also visit the hospital’s cafeteria to top off the viewing experience with a selection from its healthy and nutritious menu offerings.
