Kenny Miyoshi said he’s getting back on his feet now. Monday was a good day for shave ice at Masa’s Shave Ice. Kelvin Moniz was shopping for suppliers to the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank, and Joe Grace was picking up some things after a long weekend at the Kaua‘i Museum 50th anniversary craft fair.
Sandy Poehnelt (she’s looking for a place for the 2011 edition of the Lights on Rice parade) was wrapping up her weekend after spending Friday checking out the crowd at the museum craft fair, having pie on hand at the Christmas in the Gardens fair at the National Tropical Botanical Gardens. She said she’s off to the Coconut Marketplace, Tuesday, and Kukui‘ula Village, Wednesday.
But Aletha Thomas had the best deal, since she got to enjoy the Friday parade from her Monkeypod Jam kitchen, and was shopping at both the NTBG event and the Monday Market at Kukui Grove Center. She was shopping for some oranges to go with her chocolate and orange syrup — not too sour, now.
Ross Shimabukuro is looking for a coach for the Kaua‘i High School softball team. Call him at 274-3169 if you’re interested. Deadline is this week.
OK, time to get rolling.
