LIHU‘E — County officials confirmed around 8:15 p.m. Saturday that a man died earlier that evening from injuries sustained in a paragliding accident in Kalalau Valley.
Mary Daubert, county public information officer, said the unidentified man died after jumping off one of the ridges near the Kalalau Lookout in Koke‘e State Park.
Paragliding is a recreational and competitive flying sport described at en.wikipedia.org as involving “a free-flying, foot-launched aircraft.”
