Elisabeth Huddy
Elisabeth Seehaus Huddy of Kapa‘a died on Nov. 15, 2010, at age 95. Born in Zwingenberg, Germany on Aug. 22, 1915, she was a supervisor at Hawaiian Fruit Packers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. F. Huddy.
She is survived by daughter Heidy (Robert) Huddy-Yamamoto; grandchildren Manfred, Eleanor, Kimo, Robbie, Michael and Craig; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4, at Kapa‘a Missionary Church, with visitation at 9:30 a.m. and service at 10:30 a.m.
The family requests flowers be omitted.

Salvacion Basilio
Salvacion M. Basilio of Kalaheo died at Straub Hospital on Nov. 7, 2010, at age 70. She was born on April 3, 1940, in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcelino and Francisca Mamaclay, and brothers, Bonifacio and Rizal Mamaclay.
She is survived by husband Teofilo B. Basilio; son Rex (Marison) Basilio of Philippines; daughters Josie (Andres) Acoba of Philippines, Editha Basilio Rodriguez of Kalaheo, Melba Basilio and Elsie Basilio, both of Philippines; 10 grandchildren; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Friends may visit with the family from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; rosary at 6:30 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Pedro Duterte Jr.
Pedro “Porkchop” Duterte Jr. of Hanama‘ulu died at his home on Nov. 22, 2010. Born on June 21, 1951, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, he retired from the State Airports Division as a heavy equipment operator and was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by brother Serafine Duterte and parents Pedro and Loretta (Delostrico) Duterte.
He is survived by wife Cindy (Koerte) Duterte; daughters Tamara Duterte and Jamie Duterte, both of Hanama‘ulu; grandsons Austin and Jai Dabin-Duterte; brothers Lorry (Janel) Duterte, Alan (Vanessa) Duterte, Norman (Sheri) Duterte, Bobby Duterte; sister Jerilynn (Sarge) Agor of California; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 11, at Immaculate Conception Church; visitation at 8:30 a.m. with Mass to follow at 10 a.m.

Agnes Machado Vasques of Beaverton, Ore., died Nov. 12, 2010, at age 98. She was born on April 6, 1912, in Kealia.
She was preceded in death by husband Joseph Vasques and daughter Patricia Silva.
She is survived by daughter Dorothy Andrade of Lawa‘i; sister Margaret Machado Victorino of Lihu‘e; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Dec. 4, at Immaculate Conception Church at 9 a.m. with Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery.

Irene Tupou
Irene Shendrina Momi Tupou of Wailua Homesteads died Nov. 23, 2010, at The Queen’s Medical Center on O‘ahu at age 53. Born Feb. 21, 1957, on Kaua‘i, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by mother Harriett Kalama-Soares and sister Antoinette Arizo.
She is survived by husband Filipe Tupou of Wailua Homesteads; daughters Crystal (Kirk) Momi Tupou of Lahaina, Maui, Casey Tupou, Candace (Tyson) Tupou, Cassandra “Ulu” Tupou all of Wailua Homesteads; brothers Roger Soares of Wailua Homesteads, Gordon (Darlene) Soares Sr. of Kalaheo, Albert Soares Jr. of Lihu‘e; sister Cindy (Michael) Bandman Sr. of Kapa‘a; four grandsons; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 11, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary Chapel, Koloa. Visitation at 10:30 a.m. and service at 11:30 a.m. with cremation to follow.

Bruce Hoopii
Bruce “The Coconut Man” Kawehiwehi Hoopii of Anahola died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Nov. 26, 2010, at age 62. Born in Lihu‘e on Sept. 29, 1948, he was a self-employed coconut tree trimmer and coconut leaf weaver.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Ophelia Hoopii, and brother, Samuel Hoopii.
He is survived by his wife, Evangeline “Aunty Angie” Hoopii of Anahola; five children, Samuel Lanning of Kaua‘i, Leinoa (Geordie) Holden of Canada, Lohelani (Kaimi) Nabeshima of Puhi, Kawehi Hoopii of Kapahi, Liana Hoopii of Puhi; three hanai children, Tina Silva, Pristine De Jesus, Francia Demitrial; six grandchildren, Brianne Lanning, Xion Lanning, Isaiah Lanning, Ashley Holden, Kaimi Nabeshima Jr., Kawehilani Hoopii; three hanai grandchildren; two brothers, William McCullen, Robert (Donna) Hoopii; three sisters, Dolores (James) Johnson, Nora Contrades, Ophelia Kanoa; and numerous, aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 12, at Kapa‘a Seventh Day Adventist with visitation from 3 p.m. and services celebrated at 4 p.m. Reception to follow. Family requests casual attire.

Maurice Caspillo
Maurice F. Caspillo of Princeville died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Nov. 28, 2010, at age 67. Born in Lihu‘e on Feb. 8, 1943, he retired as a police officer with the Kaua‘i Police Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Conrado and Maxima Caspillo; two brothers, Clifford “Pepe” Caspillo and Frederick “Tinga” Caspillo.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Caspillo; daughter, Carrice Caspillo; son, Eric Caspillo; brother, Milton “Jojo” (Julie) Caspillo; numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4, at St. Catherine Church with visitation from 9 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. Reception to follow.

Evelyn Shinako Furushima of Koloa died Nov. 17, 2010, a Kuakini Medical Center at age 91. Born Aug. 16, 1919, in Waimea, he was a supervisor for Kaua‘i Commercial Company.
She is survived by sons Alan Tetsuo Sasaki of Mililani, Melvin Masami Sasaki of Mililani; daughters Ruth Eiko Matsumoto of Honolulu, Joyce Chieko Nakaoka of Los Angeles, Calif.; stepsons Ralph Furushima, Dennis Furushima; stepdaughters Carol Moriguchi, Gail Makishi; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sister Leatrice Mitsuko Kimura.
Private services were held.

Yoshiko Hadama
Yoshiko Hadama of Lihu‘e died Nov. 17, 2010, at age 92. Born on Dec. 9, 1917, in Lihu‘e, she was a retired produce clerk with Foodland.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hisashi Hadama.
She is survived by sons Dennis (Gail) Hadama of O‘ahu and Glenn Hadama of Kaua‘i; daughters Kathleen (Brian) Takenaga of California and Lauretta Hadama of Kaua‘i; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers John (Asako) Iwamoto of Kaua‘i, Richard (Doris) Iwamoto of Kaua‘i and Henry (Sachie) Iwamoto of California; sister Harriet (Richard) Kimura of Kaua‘i; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4, at Lihu‘e Hongwanji Mission; service at 2 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and flowers omitted.

Florence Bloom
Florence Marie Bloom of Kaua‘i died Nov. 29, 2010, at age 87.
Born Oct. 4, 1923, in Miles City, Mont., she was a resident of Kaua‘i for 25 years.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Robert H. Bloom of Kaua‘i; three children, Douglas H. (Betty) Bloom of Memphis, Tenn., Barbra Ann (George) Perry of Indianapolis, Ind., D. Robert (Libby) Bloom of Kaua‘i; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4, at Borthwick in Koloa.
