PO‘IPU — The National Tropical Botanical Garden annual Christmas in the Garden Holiday Craft Fair is Dec. 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at NTBG’s South Shore visitor center, across from Spouting Horn Park on Lawa‘i Road.
Christmas in the Garden will offer original creations, including jewelry, musical instruments, traditional Hawaiian fish hooks, fused glass and fine arts from Kaua‘i and the Neighbor Islands.
Featured artisans and crafters include Martin Lugo, Ira Ono, Judy Yueng, Tish and Heifara Aiamu and Tomilyn Clark.
The fair will also include a NTBG-grown plant sale, which will include ma‘afala — a Samoan-variety breadfruit, complete with information about how to grow them.
Families are invited to visit a keiki craft station, massage station, taste locally roasted coffee and listen to live music by Paul Togioka, Anela Lauren, Tsunami Taiko Drummers and others.
During this season of giving, NTBG asks visitors to bring a donation of one canned food item. For more information on Christmas in the Garden, call 742-2433.
