Kalani Hillstrom
Kalani Arthur Hillstrom of Kapa‘a died at home on Oct. 7, 2010 at the age of 36. He was born in Anahola on June 25, 1974 and was a former boat captain of Kaua‘i Sea Tours and also worked many years at Sea Breeze Parasail on O‘ahu.
He is survived by wife Carol Ann Hillstrom of Kapa‘a; daughter Mahina Hillstrom; four sons: Nike Hillstrom and Cruz Hillstrom of Kapa‘a, and Joshua Winward and Tavin Winward, both of Hawai‘i Kai, O‘ahu; mother, Karen “Nana” Hillstrom of Anahola; three brothers: Kale (Sun) Galanto of Oregon, Jeremy Hillstrom of Moloa‘a, and Christian Hillstrom of Kapa‘a; one granddaughter, three nieces, numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 at his childhood beach home in ‘Aliomanu in Anahola at 1 p.m.
The family requests dress in casual green attire, his favorite color.

Patrick Nagao
Patrick Nagao of Wailua died at home on Oct. 25, 2010 at the age of 67. He was born in Kealia on May 26, 1943, retired from the Carpenters Union and was an avid fisherman.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Nagao, and parents, Hideo and Lillian Nagao.
He is survived by two sons: Rodney (Rhonda) Nagao of Honolulu and Eric Nagao of Wailua; daughter Patricia (Andy) Chong of Wailua; six grandchildren: Lauren Nagao, Haley Nagao, Aron Nagao, Brandon Chong, Davin Chong and Kimi Chong; three brothers: Stanley (Shirley) Nagao, Allan Nagao and Brian (Laura) Nagao; aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010 at Niumalu Beach Park at 1 p.m., with a luncheon to follow.

Elisabeth Huddy
Elisabeth Seehaus Huddy of Kapa‘a died on Nov. 15, 2010 at age 95. Born in Zwingenberg, Germany on Aug. 22, 1915, she was a supervisor at Hawaiian Fruit Packers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. F. Huddy.
She is survived by daughter Heidy (Robert) Huddy-Yamamoto; grandchildren Manfred, Eleanor, Kimo, Robbie, Michael and Craig, and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010 at Kapa‘a Missionary Church, with visitation at 9:30 a.m. and service at 10:30 a.m.
The family requests flowers be omitted.

Dorothy Sarmento
Dorothy Kekupuohikalani Sarmento of Lawa‘i died Nov. 15, 2010 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 87. Born on May 30, 1923, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by parents William and Harry Sarmento.
She is survived by husband Harry Sarmento; daughters Jennifer (Ronald) Gonsalves, Sharon Sarmento, Yvonne (Rodney) Kelly and Debra (Roger) Frago; son Harry (Penny) Sarmento; 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday Nov. 29, 2010 at 9 a.m. at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery pavilion in Hanapepe.
The family suggests casual attire.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
Fred Nishimura
Fred Haruo Nishimura died on Nov. 6, 2010 at age 95. Born in Hanalei on Feb. 13, 1915, he was employed by Hawaiian Fruit Packers and Smith’s Motor Boat before his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Matsuyo Nishimura, and daughter, Claire Hayashida.
He is survived by his brother, John Nishimura; sisters Grace Kasahara, Natsumi Hodson and Mits (Joe) Mrskos; daughters Susan (Wayne) Horikawa and Nora (Ben) Napoleon; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Private burial services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.

Sandee Pia of Kapa‘a died on Nov. 16, 2010 at age 59. Born in Detroit, Mich. on Nov. 2, 1951, she was a bodybuilder.
She is survived by her son, Jason Fliegel; mother, Esther Brodsky; grandchildren Tiffany Fliegel, Jacelyn Fliegel, Leeana Fliegel and Kaimana Jason Kaohi Fliegel; great-grandchild, Rylan Rapozo; sister, Pam Brodsky, and numerous friends.
Private services were held.

Antonio Silva
Antonio Ispelite Silva, 11-month-old infant, of Kapa‘a, died at 1:09 a.m. on Oct. 29, 2010 at Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children in Honolulu. He was born on Nov. 25, 2009 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital in Lihu‘e.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louis S. and Emily P. Silva, and Samiuela Fifita.
He is survived by his parents Louis C. Sr. and ‘Alisi Silva of Kapa‘a; grandmother ‘Alisi P. Fifita of Kolomotu‘a, Tonga; sisters Michelle (Molena) Ayers of Kane‘ohe, O‘ahu; Delcie (Chris) Okumura of Waimea; Mimosa A. and Carmen E. Fifita of Kolomotu‘a, Tonga; brother Louis C. (Kellin Vea) Silva Jr.; aunts Joyce (Linsey) Carineo of Koloa; Ana (Ian) Otai of Sydney, Australia; and Naule‘o Fifita (Ewen Ross) of Christchurch, New Zealand; uncles Gary and Glen Silva of Kalaheo; and Iki (Ana) Fifita of Kolomotu‘a, Tonga; nieces Ciane and Hi‘ilei Ayers of Kane‘ohe, O‘ahu; Zenia and Zoey Okumura of Waimea; Kanani and Kiani Silva of Kapa‘a; nephew Dylan Ayers of Kane‘ohe, O‘ahu; and extended cousins, family members and dear friends.
Family and friends are welcome to attend his celebration of life, which will be held on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Silva residence, 5903 Kawaihau Rd., Kapa‘a.
Cremation was handled by Nu‘uanu Memorial Park & Mortuary in Honolulu.
