LIHU‘E — Eileen Winters, president of the Rotary Club of Kaua‘i, said there is still room for runners and walkers to register for the 8th Annual Old Koloa Sugar Mill Run.
Winters was on hand with other Rotary Club of Kaua‘i members, Friday at the Kukui Grove Center to distribute race packets to participants ahead of the event which takes place this morning.
“Right now, we have more than 350 participants and we’re still registering more, today,” Winters said while jockeying between packets. “I think we’ll have close to 400 participants when the race starts.”
Registration can be done online at www.active.com, or by 6:30 a.m. at the pavilion at the Anne Knudsen Park in Koloa, Saturday morning.
The Old Koloa Sugar Mill Run is billed as “Kaua‘i’s Premier” 8th Annual 5K, 10K, 10-Mile Runs and 5K Walk sponsored by the Rotary Club of Kaua‘i, and made possible through the efforts of The Bone and Joint Center at Kaua‘i Medical Clinic, Grove Farm Co., Chevron Hawai‘i, the County of Kaua‘i, Kaua‘i Spring, and other generous community donors.
Proceeds from the event benefits the Kaua‘i Community College Nursing program, the KCC Electronics Technology program, and the Rotary Youth Leadership Award.
Late registration fee is $30 and includes breakfast following the race and either an event T-shirt, or tank top.
